School Age Swimming lessons
Our School Age Learn to Swim Programme uses a system of structured lessonsthat teach across a broad range of swimming levels, up to and including competition grades. Skill development and enjoyment of swimming and water activities go hand-in-hand in all our programmes, but there is also an element of fun so children will develop a long-lasting love of moving and being in the water. Learn-to-swim
Swimmers start in Learn-to-Swim classes, 30 minutes long, and are graded according to confidence levels and ability. Our qualified teaching staff stay in the water with pupils for the first five ability groups, then teach from the poolside for classes when swimmers are breathing competently. Pupils are encouraged to strive for defined goals at each programme level, and are presented with certificates when these are reached. Once children are swimming 25 metres freestyle and backstroke, they move into our Stroke Programme with six ability groups that concentrate on technical skills in lessons that are 30 to 45 minutes long. Mini Squad
This programme prepares swimmers for competitive club swimming, and is an option for those who want to develop stroke ability beyond our Stroke Programme, and maintain a high level of fitness. Lessons are 45 to 60 minutes long. Our school age programme can take swimmers to the highest levels – and provide water safety knowledge for life. |
